alex was born in the old russian town smolensk in the family of medical officer. with his parents getting assignments all around russia and abroad, alex travelled a lot, including several years in east germany. in the year 1989 he moved over to reside in moscow. in 1993 he found himself interested in avant-garde fashion. in the year 1996 the “ptuch” magazine awarded alex as the best avant-garde designer – he received their “golden ptuch” prize. alex coped with his fame in a rather strange way – quite soon he became bored with fashion design and left this business. long before taking his final decision to become a dj, alex was making his own mixes for his fashion shows. his professional dj career was started in 1996 in “aquatoria” club. in a while he became the resident-dj of the legendary “substation” underground radio station, being remembered from that time for industrially-dark atmosphere of his night radio-shows: dark ambient & trip-hop; saturday morning: techno & electro shows. after the “substation” was closed, alex worked as a dj at the “station 2000″ and “dynamite” radio stations. 6 years he was a resident of world-famous internet-radio deepmix. today the name of dj alex meshkov is associated with an epoch of the russian techno scene as well as with a significant list of night-clubs. the most legendary of them but alas now not existing are: luch, a-club (resident), territoria (resident), mix (resident), gorod. from the year 1999 alex creates music under the name of “nooncat”, his personal musical project. nooncat’s smart and neatly true tracks have been released on the european labels: salo, konvex-konkav, trapez, mis, treibstoff, trenton, dilek / darek; and on the russian labels: pro-tez, lichen, between us, phlegmatek. in 2004 the moscow “16 tons” club awarded nooncat with a famous “golden gargoyle” as the best dance project of the year. at the present time he plays in “shanti”, “arma”, “propaganda” and “mio” moscow night clubs, also on internet-radio rts.fm. the geography of his performances is wide: germany, macedonia, romania, switzerland, france, poland, england, austria, serbia and all across russia. his dj-ing style is rather wide and variable, however always original: from minimal to techno and techouse with deep influences and light touch of melodies.

born and raised in gent, belgium with a pair of firm italian roots. spent his childhood dreaming of interstellar voyage, alien invasion and skies filled with colony spaceships… side effects of a daily overdose of television-infused sci-fi images.
he first came in contact with electronic music in his childhood, right in the middle of the breakdance craze, backspinnin’, body poppin’, to the electro boogie of grandmaster flash, africa bambaataa, jonzun crew… needless to say, he got infected by the electro bug at an early age.
by the end of the 80′s, belgium came under the new beat spell, which opened up an entirely new world, directly followed by the first insidious acid tunes. franco has always been influenced by the more atmospheric, either moody or darker tunes. so when detroit techno arrived at the scene, his mind completely absorbed the deeper techno vibes from artists like carl craig, juan atkins, dan curtin… but it didn’t stop there. afx, autechre and other seminal artists who pushed the envelope even more, irrevocably shaped his mind to the more experimental side of electronic music, coming from labels like warp, skam, rephlex…
all of these influences define what franco cangelli is musically all about. his djing skills and production work cover different styles to satisfy his incessant need for further musical exploration.
as a dj his favourite spinning styles at the moment are minimal techno & clickhouse and electronica. a typical minimal set for him includes relentless bleeps and clicks, dysfunctional melodies and jacking beats, gently spiced with some deep detroit techno, acidic tunes and experimental techno.
electronica-wise, he has an extensive collection of ambient, chill electronics and idm to choose from, to build up a nice colourful canvas of experimental soundscapes and beats.
as a producer, his production is aimed at channeling deep emotional content through deep and minimal techno, experimental or dark electronica, or any other style that suits its purpose. his debut release was on the belgian toys for boys imprint and there are future releases coming up on the new london sushitech label, which will deliver some deep minimal and experimental techno. check out the ‘observe’ section for more info.

lula circus is a “house oriented” electronic music project started in october 2008 by two italian producers. the anonymous nature of its concept wants to put the focus entirely on the sound (crisp, brilliant, hybrid, with house influences and cool grove) by keeping the real identity of the two producers a secret. a bet, a game, just like in a lynch circus where captivating music drags into far-away trips.
in april 2009 their first split 12” release “charlotte boulevard” with french dop and a remix by d’julz for the french label children of tomorrow. in august 2009 their first vinyl for the well-renowed german label resopal schallware (“circus part1”). the growing interest in the german market leads in the next months to the release of other three vinyls (“las vegas story” for hertz ist trumpf in october 2009, “yoko emoshon” for brouqade in february 2010 and “blumenholz” for acker in march 2010).
their tracks are played by the most famous djs, including villalobos, loco dice, reboot, karotte, italoboyz, tobi neumann…in addition to their intense activity as producers, lula circus perform in various clubs and festivals (fusion festival 2010 – larz/berlin de, 3000° festival 2010 – berlin de, cassero bologna it, sos u-ground – larz/berlin de, etnoblog – trieste it, maria am ostbahnhof – berlin de, and more…) with their dj set and live set.

her first 12 inch was released on greg wilson’s b77 label-myspacerocket feat. nina kraviz . then followed the ” voices remix project ” on jus ed’s underground quality imprint and her “first time” solo ep.
apart from being a part of the underground quality family she does her house n’ disco beats for rekids and phillip solmann’s aka efdemin’s naif label. “pain in the ass” 12 inch released on rekids in december 2009 was a success and brought nina’s music to a wider range of listeners. since then she’s been playing all around the globe including well known clubs like panorama bar, fabric, fuse, goa, space and many more.. her work is quite recognisible and most of the time has something personal in it’s sound. no matter what is she playing with;dirty house groove like in the latest remix of okain’s “scream” on tsuba records or melancholic lyrics of “moses’-
latest collaboration with sascha funke -it has that kraviz’s special sounding.
as a dj nina is very energetic and emotional. she plays whatever she has in her bag concentrating more on the atmosphere than on knobs and faders. you either love her or hate her- but never in the middle. you still can expect some good vibrations coming out.. house (especially acid house), techno according to her taste – which is excellent by the way)

whether it’s milton jackson’s classic remix of hans thalau’s lassur, his productions with the afrilounge crew, his rt-transmissions project with uk producer russ gabriel or his superb solo works on trenton, ferox or moonpool, hans (aka der thal) is a name on the lips of many a techno enthusiast.
born in the seventies and shaped by the eighties, thal started out as a dj and techno event organiser in the nineties. having found exciting friends in an atari 1024 and various synthesisers and samplers, the following years passed with many unforgettable parties, gigs and long studiosessions with his pal mikdat.
after some successful projects in 2004 as a vj with his thalvision organisation, in 2005 his studio production came sharply back into focus. aside from that, among a host of gigs, the highlight was his legendary set for car manufacturer smart at the geneva auto show bringing the international crowd to a frenzy.
2007 was a key year in which he began his productions with buddies from afrilounge resulting in the “supafreak ep” on the hamburg label “flug von welt”. in a short time this ep made it into the charts of many top djs. impressed by his skills, uk legend russ gabriel contacted thal shortly afterwards and the pair embarked on their production partnership focussing on the more musical and soulful side of techno and resulting in releases on ferox and swiss label morris audio. they then went on to form the multimedia project rt-transmissions which encompassed the rt-transmissions radio show broadcast in stuttgart (germany), dublin (ireland), tijuana (mexico) and zagreb (croatia) among others.
in 2008 and 2009 der thal found his place in the record bags of jimpster, josh wink, alex attias, quarion, dj deep, rainer trueby, ewan pearson, anja schneider, pheek, thomas schumacher and others with his successful 12″ releases as a solo artist. included here are the “mentona ep” on berlin imprint trenton and the “lassur ep” on meerestief’s sublabel moonpool.

from little fritter’s early days as a wee lad on the drums and mic, to his late teen years as wildcat, dj and promoter; the fritter journey has been a wild ride dedicated to dance floor looseness. his first release came in 2008 on music situation and he has since released on solid house labels affin, catwash, diaphan, one records, brut!, beef records, merkesdir, trazable and bleep bloop. rising quickly to the top in his homeland of australia, fritter’s strong reputation and skill have seen him become a regular home grown favourite at some of australia’s most prestigious events such as the future music festival in brisbane, circo loco in sydney as well as his legendary island parties on the gold coast. but not content with conquering his homeland, little fritter regularly spreads his love to the far reaches of the globe, spending 6 months of the year in europe every year since 2008.
2011 will see little fritter relocate to berlin for a locked and loaded summer of mischief! watch out europe – you have been warned! keep your ears open for forthcoming releases on hudd trax, nice cat, rhythmetic and suruba records. alongside his enviable solo work, fritter has been busy knocking up some juicy collaborations with the mighty los updates, fellow aussie zare and his long standing partnership with good pal and rising star alex james as nil by mouth. these collaborations will see the fritter explore the full inner workings of his mischievously talented brain and if you haven’t been bitten by the fritter bug yet; fear not your time is coming!

my experience with the dhp(deep house project) and redbox began in tokyo. it’s where this brief must begin, this stepping up so to speak because it’s where I had my mind pulled open by a beat! where hooks have aimed and lodged, provoking feet to move, eyes to be exposed and ears to be pleased. when night falls or energy waits to rise something seeds, evokes a mood, whether high in the sky, deep within a cavern, cube or space, the beats provided a place for elements to merge: a gigantic house breathing en masse. a crimson Redboxed sun melting slowly, smoothly. a fiery redbox rising, propelling, compelling, swaggering! imagine if you will a world with antennas, long, shiny, silver and sharp, which through the experience of deep dancefloor diving, have rushed to emerge, ears bending, breaking the surface to reveal massive antlers intent on housing the echoes birthed from the mothership that is DHP.that is nurtured through the stylings of the redbox.
refusing to wear the costume which is obvious, carlos gibbs, the founder of these projects, has come along way since the label’s creation in 2001, in san francisco. not only does it represent his engagement with the culture of house music but also with related stylings such as photography, art, music, and fashion which gibbs manages to bring together seemlessly and uniquely. his visions, it seems, desire not to stubbornly grasp the scene , but instead respect it. respect given by maintaining an interest in the roots of the culture’s raw, underground nature. respect multiplied and further magnified through gibbs’s own grand design.
dhp’s branded stripe of deep tech grooves imbued with ghetto funk flavour has spread to dance floors worldwide and has seen gibbs play alongside such artists as land shark, , mark farina, miguel miggs, iz&diz, t-rek to the more recent dj julz, jimpster, justice, hipp-e, solar, rennie foster ,mikael stavostrand, mike shannon and alex smoke. from sf(the end up), the beat train has moved to new york city, sydney, melbourne(revolver), prague, bangkok, and seoul till finally finding its present home in the heart of dance music hysteria in asia , tokyo, where gibbs has frisked the floors of yellow, unit, ageha and womb.
as well as the continued development of the dhp trademark, the sister brainchild, redbox, created in 2002, has firmly established itself as one of the premier underground events in the tokyo landscape. the redbox concept has its foundations in photography and extends its reach to innovative portraiture, perceptive composition, live painting and original visuals, a formidable assault when mixed with sound. events such as boo(halloween style) nye at legato, kika style. the redbox boat party and river life are all stellar examples of what punters have witnessed and what potential punters can expect when exposed to the dhp/redbox blitz. in 2009 it will continue its progression with a return to the project’s essence with a focus on artistic collaborations, including a photo book, cd, dvd, a planned red benefit and the upcoming anniversary in the fall. also look out for new release on trenton recordings berlin this spring. it will undoubtedly be another strong year for redbox and dhp. “be a witness to the funk!”

born in berlin, todd bodine is a musical child par excellence of germany‘s capital of electronic music. strongly influenced by the atmosphere after the fall of the berlin wall he took his first credits as a resident dj in the world famous tresor club. the place where he performs his actionloaded dj-sets once a month untill today.
but that‘s just one side of todd‘s musical activities, being a dj on the floors of international known clubs in barcelona, paris, tokyo or rio de janeiro, just to name a few. beside this career he‘s active as a producer since the year 2001 – and that with great success. at the beginning stood releases on the berlin based cabinet record, followed by releases on tom clark‘s highgrade records, the swiss morris audio label and last but not least: tresor records. with tom clark he shares a longterm creative friendship, which is by all means not the only reason why todd bodine is an essential part of the highgrade-artists-family, thus beeing one of the most profilic musicians from that label.
beside several ep‘s, todd bodine allready did two albums: „different engines“ was released in 2005 on morris audio, followed by „surfaces“ one year later on tresor. two hihglights in todd‘s discography for sure, but clearly not the end. other eps on treibstoff records or claude van strokes mothership label are belonging to his portfolio too. as well as a couple of remixes and releases on international known labels like immigrant (manchester) or sub conce (spain). as if this is not enough, todd works together with several musical buddies: dub taylor (a.k.a. tigerskin), dj fx from berlin or the frankfurt based highgrade-newcomer ludwig coenen.
in march 2007 it was about time to take the next level of putting his musical visions into practice. after half a year of preparing it, todd began to perform as liveact. he started this with a big bang – with playing live at berlin‘s finest – the panorama bar. another very successfull project of todd was born. so he plays for instance both as a liveact and as a dj across many floors all over europe on the „our thing“ clubtour 2008 to the highgrade jubilee.
without a doubt todd bodine has his own place in the rows of berlins most important producers – on the one side as a heavily booked dj, on the other side as a profilic producer or as an energetic live performing artist – whatever he‘s about, „it has to rock!“

till is a typical urban kid; growing up in the nineties with skateboarding and hip hop, he was running his own street wear shop for seven years until he in 2006 decided to focus 100% on his music career.
besides working as the booking agent for a number of infamous german acts, till is also a heavily acclaimed dj and producer with releases on labels like supplement facts, suol and dirt crew recs, with collaborations with tigerskin, aera, chopstick, catz’n'dogz etc. and with remixes on ministry of sound, plastic city and many others on the discography.
his heart and dedication, however, is to be found in dj’ing. for the past two years he has been travelling all over the world; south africa, japan, us and all over europe never letting the dancefloor down. a dj set from till von sein is soulful and pop infused, you for sure never know what you are gonna get – only thing certain is, that it will be some wicked stuff.
right now he is working on his first solo album for suol which will be out by the end of the year.

aera was born in 1984 near harbor city kiel in germany.
inspired by his early love for all kinds of electronic sounds, he got his first synthesizer when he was 12 years old. from that point on the machines ruled his life. fast forward to 2010, he launches his own label aleph music to release his own music exclusively.
the first two releases were received enthusiastically by the press and music lovers worldwide. “forcefully vital tracks in a world filled with so much impotent house music, pretty much guaranteed to demolish a set for any dj brave and adventurous enough to play them.”
when he is not busy doing remixes or playing out live, he is collaborating on records with guys like till von sein, frank martiniq and marc schneider, on labels as diverse as curle records, jolly jams (dj kaos) or suol.
with his good friend henry behring he is also producing as goldwill, having released records on liebe*detail, wandering, musik gewinnt freunde and dessous, for example. aera has developed a unique and distinctive style when playing out live, with a lot of room for improvisation and experiments, blending in bits and pieces from his vast repertoire .
in winter 2011/2012 aera will release his first solo album on aleph music.

djs danny dior and diego rodriguez joined forces to form d opposite d in 2005, following years as solo artists. the combination of danny’s extensive production background and diego’s south american influence creates an explosive mix of skills and wicked doped tech house and techno sounds. their performances are a sensory spectacle, taking the crowd on a journey where they hear, see, and feel energy and passion the duo has for the music. the duo has toured extensively throughout the netherlands in clubs such as zebra lounge, the mansion, escape, subterraneo, club nl, supper club, sinners, panama, melkweg, paradiso, plan c, just to mention a few. d opposite d have also played worldwide in belgium, mexico, germany, england, france, united states, panama, and more.
the duos attention to detail grows more evident with each new track they produce. d opposite d skills in their dj sets and in the production studio have rapidly stirred things up in edm community. only a couple of months into their production life, famed cream dj and producer lee ellis and steal my oil label head middleman signed the duo for an exclusive remix of lofi 010, a favorite of sasha. since then, they have produced more than 20 original tracks and remixes for several producers. their productions have been signed in a large number of labels such as minimo records (owned by renowned dj and producer marcelo castelli), 76 recordings (owned by joy marquez), worldwide exclusive (owned by cristian paduraru), xela digital, bit records mexico, musictracx recordings, steal my oil records, blaq records, mucho groove records, we are here records (onwed by tini tun), blaq records, trenton records, peanut musik, minimatracx, and niteworks recordings.
d opposite d are currently very busy in the studio producing a new set of remixes and original tracks. they are also busy establishing a new label, phase shift records, which will be the instrument that will allow talented producers to explore and push the boundaries of house music in its various forms: tech house, minimal, progressive, and deep house.

aspro is real identity is chris clause and was born in paris in 1975. as many of djís and producers he discovered techno music at a party with friends and after this revelation, gave up trying to deal with bands and started to spin records in clubs and parties his main influences are coming from the detroit melodic techno but also the french touch at the time where paris was still a good place for house music…
after a few years of playing around in paris he finally met sam rouanet (aka reynold/duplex100) . the alchemy was so strong that they decided to start playing in clubs together in paris and in germany and eventually to set up a label to be able to release their own productions and more. trenton records was born and since then aspro ís music just keeps on getting better as he’s now playing live and producing on a daily basics ! with reynold there realease some traks on trenton, microfon, and lebensfreude rec.
his music became a sweet hybrid between detroit deep techno and german minimal house and now psychedelique electro and exprimentale indie and even if he ís playing his live-sets with a laptop, he ís still producing at home with all kind of analog pieces, using acoustic intrument like bass, guitare, rhodes…
